Signia by Hilton Indianapolis Hotel and Sixth Expansion of the Indiana Convention Center
In recognizing the evolving and competitive nature of the events and hospitality industry, the Capital Improvement Board (CIB) is diligent in efforts to ensure that our facilities meet the needs of our current and prospective clients. In addition to recent large-scale projects like the Gainbridge Fieldhouse renovation and smaller ones like addition of digital menu boards inside Lucas Oil Stadium (LOS), the CIB is working on other projects that will allow us to grow, retain, and attract new events.
The construction of the Signia by Hilton Indianapolis Hotel and sixth expansion of the Indiana Convention Center (ICC) broke ground in summer 2023 and is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2026. The project, located across Capitol Avenue from the existing ICC space, will add 800 connected hotel rooms and 143,500 square feet of meeting space, including the State’s largest ballroom (and one of the top ten by size in the United States) and a junior ballroom. THe hotel and expansion will be connected to the existing convention space by a skywalk over Capitol Avenue.
The additional event space provided by the project will allow the ICC and LOS to host two citywide conventions at one time and attract new four- and five-star events. The additional hotel room inventory will allow Indianapolis’ existing cornerstone conventions to keep their growing events in our city.
